You know, I realize the aughts or whatevs were pretty awful globally, but speaking about my own personal life, if the teens are half as good (especially as good as 2005-2009), I’ll be really incredibly happy.

‘Baby-Sitters Club’ Returns With Prequel, Reissued... →
interweber: Editors at Scholastic updated some of the references to technology and outdated fashions in the reissued books. So a “cassette player” has become “headphones” and a “perm” has become “an expensive hairstyle.” I’ll buy it. And I’ll certainly buy these books. ESPECIALLY, because Ann M. Martin is in. MISS YOU BSC! BOOK CLUB.

– Thus far the only important commentary from year end music round ups.  From Molly Lambert at This Recording. (via eatingpieelsewhere) I prefer to think of Taylor as Angela, but this is extremely vital commentary nonetheless. Who is Jordan Catalano? I hope it’s not Nick Jonas.

A very funny (NSFW) video version of a sketch from November’s High Treason show! “A Little Business” was written by Brandon Gulya and stars Sarah Claspell and Rob Webber. I love it so much.

But It's Not Google
Despite the damning use of quotations in Katie’s recommendation (“You may want to try the “Bing” search engine”), it turns out Bing is AWESOME for finding flights. Found the fare I want for $115 less than on Kayak!

How Does Travel Work?
So, this is likely a stupid question, but, since I take the bus when I go to visit my family, I don’t really know how air travel works. I’ve been pricing out tickets for our honeymoon (CAN WE PLEASE GO NOW?) and tickets to Montreal seem really expensive. Is this just because I’m looking six months in advance? Will they get cheaper? Is this the sort of thing I should do with a...

NYT: New York Reaches Out to Those Who Won't Come... →
You know, sometimes I read stories like this one, about folks who, on freezing nights, go to check on homeless people who don’t want to go to shelters every two hours, and I feel really profoundly guilty about my career choices. I firmly believe that you can have the biggest impact in this world by doing the thing you’re best at, but man. It’s hard to justify writing funny things...
